Bonnaroo One Of The World's Hottest Music Festivals
Every year since 2002 Bonnaroo has been noted for being one of the top music festivals in the world. This festival is noted for featuring an incredibly variety of artists and attractions. With all of the exciting things at this festival it can be seen that it is one of the most looked forward to music festivals of them all.
Bonnaroo is held for four days each year in the middle part of June. It takes place each year in Manchester, Tennessee. This small town is about sixty miles to the south of Nashville. It is primarily a farming town. As a result this festival is held on a massive farm land every year.
This festival has been held annually since 2002. Bonnaroo, which is Cajun for �really good time,originally started as a festival for jam bands and featured notable artists like Widespread Panic, Phishs Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper, moe. and Ween. Over the years this festival has grown to where a variety of artists appear.
Over the years the lineup has grown at Bonnaroo. In 2004 Dave Matthews, Wilco and Yo La Tengo performed. In 2006 Radiohead, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Beck and My Morning Jacket performed. The Police played the festival in 2007 as a part of their reunion tour. The 2008 edition featured Pearl Jam, Metallica, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, B.B. King and Willie Nelson.
The five stages used here are large and will accompany thousands of people. The What Stage can handle nearly a hundred thousand people while the Which Stage can handle thirty thousand. The This, That and Other Tents are also popular sites.
This festival has been noted as a major site for comedy too. Since 2005 the festival has featured a comedy tent that has welcomed a variety of comedians including Lewis Black, David Cross, Patton Oswalt and Janeane Garofalo. There was even a nightly comedy talk show in 2008 hosted by Louis C.K. The biggest performance for comedy came in 2008 when Chris Rock performed for nearly a hundred thousand fans at the main stage.
The cinema part of the festival is another great thing to see. This features premiere presentations of films from all sorts of notable figures. Among those who have brought their films to Bonnaroo include D.A. Pennebaker, Bill Plympton and Jim Jarmusch.
The Centeroo part of Bonnaroo is also popular. This features the This, That and Other Tents and two DJ tents, a comedy tent, a cinema tent and all sorts of notable features, including a market.
